7 Awesome Real Estate Conferences You Need To Attend In 2022

Real estate conferences are a great way to learn more, network, and build your reputation. At a real estate conference, you get to interface one-on-one with experts in your field. You get to listen to the best of the best.

From commercial real estate to real estate investing, you can find out what you need to know from other real estate professionals.

But with so many real estate conferences available, how do you know which to prioritize? Here are some of the biggest real estate conferences within the real estate industry.

1. Inman Connect (January)

Held last in Las Vegas, Inman Connect is a 3-day conference that mostly covers the residential real estate market. This summit includes many incredible speakers and professionals who can give Realtors tips on growing their career, influence, and books.

The agenda includes speakers, educational sessions, lead generation, and brokerage building. The professional investors and brokers cover everything at the summit, such as listing regular single-family and multifamily homes.

The Inman Connect conference is generally held at the beginning of the year and kicks off the other yearly sessions. It’s a great way to get started with your conferences and start building your networking opportunities.

EXPCON is eXp Realty’s annual in-person meetup event. Since eXp Realty is a virtual brokerage, EXPCON gives eXp agents a chance to meet their friends and colleagues in person.

While EXPCON is primarily meant for eXp agents, brokers, and staff, any real estate professional interested in potentially joining eXp is welcome to attend. The event is open to agents in eXp’s global locations, including Canada, the U.K., Australia, South Africa, India, Mexico, and more.

EXPCON typically lasts for a few days and hosts a variety of activities including training and breakout sessions, special events, keynote speakers, a gala awards dinner, and plenty of networking opportunities.

This year EXPCON will return to being held in person and will take place at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will take place from November 9th to November 11th, and celebrity and TV host Mario Lopez will be the emcee for the gala awards dinner.

For those who can’t attend the event in person, portions of it will also be live-streamed and available for viewing on eXp World, which is the company’s main virtual platform.

3. RE/MAX R4 (March)

The R4 RE/MAX event takes place over the course of 4 days. This year’s event took place in Las Vegas. Over 6,000 agents attend the RE/MAX R4 conference every year. Sponsored by RE/MAX, the events included have their finger on the pulse of the industry.

At this event, a real estate agent can learn more about how to network, gain referrals, take professional training courses, and participate in awards ceremonies. There are events ranging from ice cream socials to charitable auctions. There’s even live entertainment.

Because this conference is so robust, and there’s so much to experience, it’s a can’t-miss for a lot of real estate professionals. Not only is it a time to network, but it’s also a time for people to unwind and connect in both a professional and personal capacity.

Many brokerages send their real estate professionals to this event to learn more.

4. Tom Ferry’s Success Summit (August)

Considered an ultimate training event, the Success Summit helps industry leaders grow their businesses. This convention offers retail real estate professionals more information about the current industry and marketing.

Topics discussed include inventory availability, growing wealth, marketing, and secrets to success. Professionals can take notes from a keynote speaker, look into educational opportunities, and find out more about current industry trends.

The Success Summit is one of the most important real estate events of the year. You can look at past conferences to get a feel for what they can offer. This is a particularly valuable conference for those trying to move into becoming a broker or trying to develop their own portfolio of investments.

5. RealWorld (September)

At RealWorld, industry professionals can get a team package discount, participate in a laser-focused breakout session, and take a look at some of the next-generation real estate technology available.

The RealWorld agenda is primarily property management and real estate finance. RealWorld is perfect for Realtors and investors who want to own and manage residential real estate (apartments, condos, and townhomes).

Most real estate conferences concentrate primarily on listing and buyer agents as well as investors. That makes this conference more valuable for those interested in the real estate and investment industry.

The commercial real estate industry can be a particularly tough nut to crack. But mentorship with industry leaders can help. For those who want to learn more about the commercial industry, CCIM appears at trade shows with more information.

7. NAR’s REALTORS Conference & Expo (November)

NAR’S REALTORS have been connecting and communicating since 1908. The NAR’S REALTORS Conference & Expo is the biggest yearly event for real estate professionals. It’s a must-visit for any Realtor.

The conference schedule includes education sessions, networking activities, governance meetings, special events, expo activities, and the town square. The town square is the largest real estate trade expo within the real estate industry.

NAR is essentially the standard for Realtors in the United States, so it’s a good idea for most agents to attend this conference. At a minimum, they should tune into the digital events that are offered and review any streamed lessons or seminars.

Note that the times and locations of any of these conferences may shift. Especially today, many of them are arranged with global pressures and economic pressures in mind.

FAQs on Real Estate Conferences

What’s the best expo for real estate professionals?

Most real estate professionals will, at minimum, go to the REALTORS Conference & Expo. It’s the biggest in the real estate industry and will consequently have the most opportunities.

How do you become an attendee at a real estate conference?

A very exclusive conference or summit may require that you register and pay for your registration early. There may be limited attendance at a given real estate conference or summit, so it’s important to decide what you want early on.

Where are most real estate conferences held?

Most conferences don’t take place in the exact same location every year. Las Vegas is one of the most popular locations for conferences, but it’s not the only one. Apart from Las Vegas, many conferences take place across the west and east coast.

How can you identify the right real estate conference for you?

Every real estate conference has different focuses. First, you want to take a look at the location. If you’re in Washington, you probably don’t want to go to New York. If you’re a residential investor, you probably don’t want to go to a CRE-focused event. Take a look at the agenda from prior years to determine whether it might be the right option.

How do you network at real estate conferences?

Bring lots of cards! Everyone at a real estate conference is already there for networking. Do your research. If there are specific firms or brokerages you want to interact with, know where they are and make a list. It’s all about getting your name out there.
